Coming Soon- August 2007 DVD Releases
Disclaimer-As usual this a compilation of titles that entice John Doe, not a complete list of releases for August.
Serpico
Finally the benchmark in undercover Police corruption arrives, hailed by many as Al Pacino’s finest role this classic is Directed by Sidney Lumet (The Hill, 12 Angry Men, Dog day Afternoon) and is based on a true story.
Watch the extended Trailer for Serpico and get with the program.
The Descent
Quality claustrophobic thriller from Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers) - Click here to read JD’s complete review and see the trailer
Twilight Zone: The original Series 1 (6 Disc set)
Was there ever a better show on TV, John Doe doesn’t think so. After waiting years, the arrival of Season 1 is enough to cause cardiac arrests of mind screwing pleasure.
Watch the classic opening credits for this monumental inspiration of intelligent sci-fi
300 – 2 Disc SE
The blood and guts battle royale assaults with stylish impact – Read Jon Doe’s complete review HERE and see the trailer
Blood Diamond
Still haven’t seen this one but enough mixed responses have drifted through to give it a chance. Director Edward Zwick’s Glory was a cut above, but Last Samurai sank under hammy acting and bland history, a wasted opportunity.
Idiocracy
Funny premise, exploited to the full. Speculates on the dumbing down of society to the point of moronic. – Click here to watch the trailer and read JD’s full review
Passion of The Christ: Directors Cut
As a non believer this film astounded with its Spartacus type power of supreme sacrifice for belief…the Bible is a great read with all the classic storytelling elements and Mel’s cinematic event captured its essence.
Peter Jackson’s Muppet show on crack was scheduled for release last month, but it looks like it was bumped. Hopefully it will hit shelves on this speculated date.
If you missed it when I posted last month, Watch the sick and twisted trailer as an introduction to the puppets known as Feebles.
Ironside Season 1
Raymond Burr (Rear Window) plays the wheelchair Detective who solves crimes through ingenuity and persistence.
McHale’s Navy Season 1
Future Wild Bunch member Ernest Borgnine stars as the mischievous seaman with a panache for parties, girls and insubordination.

Sealab 2021 Season 1
Animated craziness that has a retro grade feel, Watch an amusing Sealab satire of the Freemasons below.
Oz Season 2
Vicious, verbose and completely addictive, oz is the supreme Prison drama…makes the feel good antics of The Shawshank Redemption feel like a Brady confinement.
