Well it begins, arguably the most prestigious of all the sold there souls to the devil, art-house film Festivals, Cannes 2007.
The first screening for this 60th anniversary was the stylishly shot My Blueberry Nights. Director Wong Kar Wai (Fallen Angels, In the Mood for Love) was on hand with stars Norah Jones and Jude Law for proceedings, soaking up the limelight. (JD posted a shot of Natalie Portman who co stars in the film HERE)
There is a cornucopia of international stars conglomerated on the French Riviera right now, this second. Basking in the bulbs, plugging their reels and looking for distribution, here is a list of famous filmmakers and actors revelling in attendance at the Opening ceremonies.

This years scheduled screenings promise a range of genre’s and different cultural backgrounds that have united in expressing profound ideas, communicating through the art of moving images to sound.
Quentin Tarantino’s petrol guzzling Grindhouse segment Death Proof is running in competition, as is David Fincher’s Zodiac.
A few of the films premiering over the following 7 days that have piqued John Doe’s interest are:
The Coen Brothers (Miller’s Crossing, Blood Simple, Big Lebowski) No Country for Old Men starring Javier Bardem, Woody Harrelson and Kelly McDonald.

Wow..it'll be interesting to see who the winners are this year...
I've seen No Country For Old Men, and thought it was terrific...
As for the others, we'll just have to see how they rank at the Festival before I go and buy them lol
Great review!
Take care,
Nick
