Come Party at John Doe’s 2nd Orble Birthday Nickelodeon!

The Token Birthday Post
The virtual Orble world can be a wonderful place at times. A well written post from any number of talented wordsmiths within this community can trigger intelligent, passionate and witty discussions with a diverse range of inputs.
That same diverse range of inputs that makes for broad forum knowledge is always going to be balanced by ignorance whenever a mixed group of human beings interact at any level.
From the extremist to the informed, the level headed to the manic every social group seems to be represented on Orble. You don’t need to look far before you find the loons and the gurus, the tree hugging pacifists and the gun toting, war mongering products of hate. The sports jocks and the bookworms, the spiritually enlightened and the close minded religious zealot…
Sure you got it after the first sentence, but it was fun for JD to play responsible adult for just a moment. After all this’ his second Orble birthday and the guest of honour can do what he wants. Now back to the immaturity.
They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. It is in that spirit that John Doe blatantly rips off Bryn from horrorphile.com. Yesterday Bryn celebrated his 720 day anniversary as an Orble blogger. The elite few that survive the maelstrom of virtual world, half formed imaginary friends and foes warrants a little self congratulations.
Perhaps a triumphant John Williams conducted fanfare. A short tome Directed by David Cronenberg or a live via satellite hook up with a favourite cast or crew member.
Well no. Instead it has become customary to pen a birthday post to mark the occasion and Bryn had the ingenious idea of linking all his horror film reviews (Which numbered over 200!) onto the one page. And now I’m doing the same thing below!

Special thanks to Shaun and Brenton who also contributed to the success of the site thus far. Here’s hoping Johnny can dedicate a little bit more time to it over the next 12 months, been hard this year to find the time.
Thanks to all the readers out there who continue to visit Mr Doe's little slice of Cinematic Nirvana.

You upped me by having your links with a nice space between and in caps and your larger point size, which overall makes them even more accessible.
Go you good thing!
Gonna get back to a few reviews at a later date ... I'm still trying to think of what to do my own post on today. Late night DJing and I'm supping my coffee trying to wake up.
Did Jon get you anything? I got nuthin. Not even my traffic stats back to normal. Hmph.

It was just plain stupid of me to imitate Bryn, should have realised how big a job it was...but worth it to see the body of work at the end.
I think your patronage has played a large part in the sites success and I thank you.

I've been very slack with visiting other sites as well over the last few months...work and life taking over most waking hours I'm finding it difficult to even lodge one post a week.
Its support from people like yourself that keep me going, Thank you.

Looking in your archives it seems that September marks your 2 year orble anniversary...now thats an achievement.
Unlike myself that makes snide comments from the sidelines you often place yourself in the middle of the fray. Our diplomatic ambassador during World Worble wars, I salute you.

I feel a llittle embarrassed by your compliment, I was actually being completly fascious when I wrote that opening blurb...false sincerity and all that, just stating the obvious and making it sound like words of substance. (All done in the name of comedy of course and intended to highlight just how infantile a website about films really is in the grand scheme of things)
You have always been a wonderful supporter of the site and often an entertaining blogger...we may not agree on certain issues but thats what makes the online frinedship all the richer.
Thanks for dropping in and I look forward to posting more in the next year.
PS - Just go into your archives if you want to discover what date your orble adventure began.

I have no shame when it comes to plagarising, lacking any original thought really like most of us bloggers its easier to steal than create. (Probably due to the lack of IQ)
A slice of cake you say, well I actually decided not to have one...instead step into the cinema with popcorn and choc tops all round, help yourself...but careful of the extreme sugar buzz to follow.

Oh be buggered - well done you - it's from heady heights you peer down on we the unwashed imparting a rich mix of humour, insight and commentary.
Slice of cake be damned - celebrate accordingly roll the jaffas down the aisle and delight in a movie reel's worth of Fantales.
Cheers

Your 1st birthday post was actually one of the first posts I ever read when I came to Orble. Ah, the good old days.
A great body of blogging work there, I hope you keep it up - you are a favourite around these parts!

I remember that first birthday comment, it seems like ages ago.
Glad to be someone's favourite, especially someone whose own writing entertains so much.

Excuse me while I bite the head of this snake
The documentary "Fuck" will be right up your alley, all about the origins, uses and stigma attached to the word itself.
Thanks for the kudos and always a pleasure to have you drop by...here grab yourself some popcorn, a choc top, jaffas and a few fantales. Now settle back and enjoy BSG.

Magnificent effort, and just one thing, did you HAVE to put all my negative personality (Orble) traits together in the one paragraph??? tee hee!
it is a mad old Orble world, but at leat it is ours.. and unlike real life, we can flick the off switch whenever the madding crowd becomes too oppressive.
cheers
