Carla Gugino - Tell tale hot.

John Doe knows you guys and gals drop by to read feature film reviews but short films like this are irresistible and must be shared. Earlier it was a western called The Damage Done, now another quality genre picture called Tell-Tale.

A bird with feathers should never be flocked by a stranger.

Again Vimeo.com delivers the dark and twisted goodies, this time in the form of an erotic noir starring Carla Gugino (Sin City, Entourage) as a sultry, stiletto loving femme fatale. The impressive cast also features Clifton Collins Jr (Rules of Attraction, Traffic, Tigerland) as a police Detective recreating a purported homicide as he interrogates our mistress of nympho intentions.

Australian actor Jesse Spencer (Swimming Upstream, House) is the young stud who pounds her meat into minute steak. Adam Arkin plays her cuckold husband who may or may not hold the answers to murderous and conniving foul play.

More than it may appear?
A reworking of the famous Edgar Alan Poe story “The Tell Tale Heart”, this twitch of the trigger thriller runs only 8 minutes but should satisfy everyone’s lust for flesh and violence.

There is the hand cuff mood of tension throughout as the weeping, shadowy atmosphere reeks of post coital fluids and cigarette smoke. A Body Heat draped in Blue Velvet homage permeates the screen.

The film is Directed by Greg Williams, best known for his alluring Esquire magazine photo shoots, including the “Sexiest Woman Alive” pics of Kate Beckinsale.

He seems to have a flare for tone and this was used as a test for a prototype Epic RED Camera technology. Tell-Tale marks his moving pictures debut.

The devilish script is written by Sebastian Gutierrez whose credits include trash like Snakes on a Plane, The Eye and Gothika. If this is any indication he seems better suited to the short film format. Oh, he is also lucky enough to be dating Miss Gugino in real life.

So have a cold shower, make sure it is dark outside, light up and enjoy this short but tantalizing excursion into truth and consequence.

There is a great article on Carla Gugino and Tell-Tale that you can read on the LATimes website HERE
