While turmoil flourishes a slave named Davus (Max Minghella – Syriana, Art School Confidential) secretly yearns for Hypatia's affections but is torn by a chance of freedom if he joins the Christian revolution. At the same time a wealthy aristocratic, Orestes (Oscar Isacc – Che, Body of Lies) also fights for the attention of the scholarly female who is blessed with a clarity of vision.
