Stumbled on this over at Cinematical.com and as Happy Harry Hardon spurts in Pump up the Volume, “Get one hand free boys and girls” cause Johnny has a tale to tell.
The story begins with the star, one time Bound lesbian lover Gina Gershon, who’s rock n roll attitude, pouting lips and swinging hips have made her the spice of many male and female erotic fantasies. (JD included)

Having just finished shooting Delirious, the latest film from Jim Jaramusch’s Cinematographer and cult Indie Writer/Director Tom DiCillo (Living in Oblivion, Johnny Suede) she had been asked to come to his hotel room to shoot an interview to promote the art house attraction

Unsuspecting of what’s planned and oblivious to the fact cameras were rolling, Gina shows up at the door. In this unique piece of advertising material, we get to witness candid footage of the filmmakers trying to coerce the star into shooting a porn tape with plans to leak it around release for free publicity.

Raw, uncensored and uncomfortably humorous, whether this is staged or not its a revealing and authentic feeling insight into the machinations of desperation in low budget filmmaking.

I always imagined Tom DiCillo looking more ... eccentric. Not so John Sayles looking ... lol

One of the great marketing scams of all time methinks...Tom Dicillo looks more like an actor...as for Gina, she is the whole reason for the post, glad you liked what you saw.

The filmmakers are certainly promoting it as real, I guess the question is are Gina Gershon and her Director capable of maintaining the illusion without any editing cuts?
Either way its a stroke of genius advertising when you have no budget and seems to reflect the mood of the film.

it does seem pretty raw to me, but then again, how many great movies were filmed in just the same way?
Who knows, we shall, as they say, just have to wait and see...
Really kinda liking Gershon though...Never paid much attention to her till now...
