Timothy Olyphant in the new Hitman Trailer.
John Doe did a post a while ago with the first pictures of Deadwood hard man Timothy Olyphant in the guise as Hitman Agent 47. Now the release of the trailer for this video game to film adaptation has arrived.
Due in Australia on the first of November the film sees the supreme killing machine, Agent 47 targeted as part of a global government conspiracy. Pursued by assassins that have been unleashed by both the US and Russians. The bald weapon of destruction survives, continuing to venture through Europe dispensing his own lethal justice for enigmatic superiors in the “The Agency”.
Shot on location, Dougray Scott (Enigma, Ripleys Game) and Olga Kurylenko (Paris, je t'aime) co star Alongside Timothy Olyphant (Go, Die Hard 4). JD is hoping it gets a hard R rating matching the template established by the game, injected with intelligence and grandiose action choreography.
Having been stung by hokey CGI heavy bores like The Transporter, Swordfish and a slew of others means Johnny still has reservations about this achieving any amount of pulse racing thrills and intensity.
The trailer below doesn’t reveal much but it does set an appropriate tone like a blend of John Woo’s The Killer mashed with John Frankenheimer’s Ronin, maybe that’s just optimistic? Watch for yourself and decide.

me and EZ had a quick look. To be honest, not excited that much.
He doesn't LOOK like 47. Not angular and weird enough, lacks intensity. Jason Statham on the other hand would have been my first pick.
Also, Hitman was never an amazing action game. Alot of it was intricacy, espionage and bloody unforgiving game play (unless you decided to kill everything and everyone near you with the ballers, in which case the game was awesome. But for all the wrong reasons).
The Ballers didn't look beefy enough. Granted, they looked nice, but in the game, the Ballers were a pair of pistols that could send a fat italian crime lord flying fifty metres worth of retributive physics.
Gonna see it? Maybe.
