Movies and Life
It's always great to get these monthly updates. Definitely better than wondering what's on.
I recently discovered Weeds and enjoyed its quirkiness and unusual storyline.
Byee
I like the look of The Good German. (Plus I like George Clooney, in a totally non-gay way).
I'll give Dumbo a miss. There's enough footage of Prince Charles around on free-to-air TV atm.

Film & TV on DVD
Weeds is so much more than the title leads you to believe. Even the early episodes hint at the flair to come.
I only list the releases that interest me, so there is a lot more coming out...its a pretty shallow month.

The Good German promises much, I love the look and feel of the trailer. I have a copy of it, planning to watch it this weekend, so if I like it there will be a review up soon aftrewards.
I'm in a weird position, I don't particularly like Clooney, but I dig most of the films he does, especially the ones with Soderburgh. (except Oceans 11)
Good Night and Good Luck was spectacular, as was Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
Dumbo is no Jungle Book, but it still warranted a mention I thought. Cheers to big ears.
A release of Meet The Feebles is what has me sweating like a puppeteer with his hand up kermits ass.
Hunt Famous
Orble Post of the Day

btw, the Host is a korean movie, not japanese...
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind was good? I never saw it...

Confessions of a Dangerous Minds is an acquired taste. I loved it, great script, stylish cinematography and some great performances. Im a big Sam Rockwell fan so I guess that helps too. (Even Julia Roberts cameo is tolerable because she makes such a goose of herself trying to play sexy Femme Fatale)
As for Lexx it is low rent Sci Fi, hacked together FX and shoddy camera choices with hammy acting.
It is the original story telling and tacky eroticism that draw me to this Sci fi Geek pleasure.
The Hitchhiker was a much more high quality and doesn't resemble it.
P.S Thanks for the typo correction.
sometimes a lot of really good Aussie films never make it here to the States and that truly sucks...although I did see Weeds and enjoyed the hell out of it...
Maybe you should start an exchange program with the US?
LOL
Just a thought...great post as always...
Take care,
Nick
