Rendezvous (1976) - Bullitt (1968): Footage included
Rendezvous
Bullitt
In an attempt to make this the most fuel injected, high octane rev head post of all time, here also for your enjoyment is the king of cool Steve McQueen strapping the shit out of his mustang in pursuit of a Dodge charger.
Thats right, Below is the cinematic majesty that is the finest Car Chase in Feature film history.....Bullitt, just wait till the seatbelts go on.
Since I started this site I’ve wanted to be able to put up video footage, now that I have the technology the first thing that I must show you is the full 9 minutes of nail biting, adrenalin pumping glory that is the short film Rendezvous.
Those who frequent my blog will have read my John Does: 10 Greatest Car Chases in Cinema History post I did about a month ago. Topping the list was this mini masterpiece, for those who don’t know, here’s why it’s so exciting.
Reckless, irresponsible and completely illegal, Film mythology doesn’t come much richer than this, an urban legend in the 70’s. Hey do you know Tyler Durden? Hey have you seen Rendezvous?
In 1976 Accomplished French filmmaker Claude Lelouch had just finished shooting his next masterwork and had a remaining 10 minutes of unused film stock for his state of the art camera.
The legend goes, that the Director mounted his camera to the bumper bar of a very fast car (maybe a Ferrari or Mercedes), called an unknown driver (maybe the Director, maybe a pro F1 driver), and then as fast as he could, making his own tracks tore from one side of Paris to the other.
Completely disregarding public safety and the road rules, reaching speeds in excess of 140 MPH, One take, no edits and most importantly no second chances.
Rumours abound, one is that 3 people have died from watching this film due to how much it increases the heart rate.
Below is all 8 edge of your seat minutes, complete and uncut, if you have a weak heart do not press play.
The rest of you, hang on, crank up the volume, move close to the screen and enjoy the ride.

Deadly is the word, they didnt close off streets or warn anyone.
Just got the driver, sat him in the car and told him to drive from one side of Paris to the other as fast as he could. Making his own route and split second decisions which streets looked the emptiest, the only thing planned was the destination.
I love when you see the pedestrians bolting to avoid being killed, nuts.

Everytime i watch it the sense of danger is always present. Total disregard of public safety, No way they could get away with it now.
They actually put the Director in prison for a short time to try an find out who drove the Ferrari. He never spoke.
thank's for the opportunity. Now im off to find my own copy on the net
