The Expendables (Latest Footage) – John Doe's Trailer of the Moment.
Locked and Loaded and Ready to Rumble.
John Doe fought it. He rumbled in the jungle of expectations. He threw down and refused to grapple with obvious deep trash. He placed a bowie knife between his teeth and crawled through the swamp of over hyped brainless action. Standing tall, wrestling a barrage of relentless marketing. But now the battle is over and JD has lost. His throat slit ear to ear, his brains splattered on the wall of nostalgic idealism.
That’s right boys and girls, Johnny is talking about The Expendables and his refusal to submit to joining the legions of fanboys pumping word of mouth steroids to the action heroes of the eighties. But his resolve has been worn down, annihilated really by the level of testosterone thrust his way like a barrage of ninja stars to the eyeballs.
Executing with extreme prejudice, the name Rourke was always the toughest to ignore. Man, the guy is bad ass shit. The macho cajones of Stallone, Willis and Arnold was always a triple threat of carnage lying in wait like a stealth assassin ready to pull the trigger on their target.
Add to that the slack jawed majesty of Eric Roberts and a round house kick to the skull by Jet Li and a choice had to be made. And that decision was an emphatic NO, despite the guilty pleasures to be had.
Fortunately lame presences like Jason Stratham, Steve Austin and Randy Couture made it a little easier for JD to keep his man meat in check.
So what finally delivered the death blow to the Doe you may wonder? Well it wasn’t the trailer. It wasn’t the positive buzz nor the attraction of revisiting the legends of his youth. It was in fact the latest slice of promotion to hit the internet. Stallone sits down for an interview on youtube where he ends up going all demolition man on the over hyped site with a frontal assault of explosions strong enough to level a third world nation. And it’s all done to the blaring accompaniment of the Gunner’s Paradise City.
Johnny D may not feel good about it. In fact he is downright ashamed. But there you have it, his contribution to the violent, spleen ripping juggernaut due to crush cinemas this month. No pussies allowed!
