Darjeeling Limited – A New Wes Anderson Trailer
Coming Soon - Wes Anderson's Darjeeling Limited
"How can the train be lost?" - Adrian Brody
Writer/Director Wes Anderson makes comedy dramas that possess all the foibles of that off centre cousin who sits in the corner at Christmas pondering “what does the colour blue taste like”, while the rest get drunk and chow down on Turkey.
A deft blend of theatrical dialogue brewed with colourful and obtuse visual composition evolves with each subsequent work.
Anderson’s next is called Darjeeling Limited and it sees a trio of estranged brothers (Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman) struggling to come to terms with their fathers death. Boarding the train known as “Darjeeling Limited” they travel across India on a quest for understanding and self discovery. The film also co stars Anjeclica Huston as the misfit boys mother and Natalie Portman.
For the uninitiated, the eccentric Texas born filmmaker made his debut with the quirky crime comedy Bottle Rocket starring Jimmy Caan (The Godfather, Rollerball, The Killer Elite) the promise of an original voice immediately was apparent. Anderson’s second film Rushmore achieved more industry kudos, introducing the world to a deadpan Bill Murray within the plot of a students crush on a teacher.
Teaming up with another ensemble cast including Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston and Danny Glover, it was Wes’s third film The Royal Tenenbaums that solidified his status as an auter of rare depth and originality.
His most recent effort, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou was a twisted ocean bound study of the avoidance of grief, loss and responsibility, in typical fashion stirring up laughter through human frailty and individuality.
After Darjeeling Limited the Director has collaborated with Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas, James and The Giant Peach) for a stop motion adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel, The Fantastic Mr Fox.
Promising more slanted observations on the human experience and the way we interact with each other, below you can enjoy the trailer for Darjeeling Limited.

sounds like a good flick..love slapstick comedy with a little angst thrown in...
Wilson makes me laugh just by "being" in a picture...The rest of the cast seems pretty viable too...
Great review...loved the clip!
Take care,
Nick

Have you liked Wes Anderson's earlier works?
The trailer for Darjeeling Limited promises more of the same, comedy gold.
Movies and Life
I haven't really seen much of Anderson's earlier stuff but I like the look of it. It seems quirky and unusual.
